April 15-16th finally brought some nice weather and also the opening of race season for many of the area tracks.
Friday night started out with the POWRI 600's at Belleville for their season opener. Jeremy Camp got off to a fast start going from 3rd to 1st picking up a heat win and Powri rookie Tyler Rust drove from 7th to 3rd to lock into the main. At the end of the night Camp finished 3rd with Rust 8th.
Saturday Night saw Danny Fitzgerald take the win at Brownstown Speedway in his OSR powered GSXR 1000 Mini Sprint racing with the MMSA.
Roger Ritchey also got the year started off right by winning the Senior Class at US24 Speedway. OSR drivers Josh James and Jordan Sterling also picked up heat race wins at 24.
